Xavier "X-Man" Lucas opponents scared?

March 23, 2012

Mixed Martial Arts world champion and MMA coach Xavier “X-Man” Lucas is training hard in preparation for his upcoming main event bout at Bragging Rights II Tuesday April 24. The only problem his last seven opponents have all pulled out on him forcing organisers to look overseas for an opponent willing to step in the cage to face him. Australia has presented no challengers with athletes either supposedly committed to other events or accepting then expressing excuses refusing to fight him within a few days.

Lucas, born in South Africa, has a pedigree in stand-up combat working in the South African Special Forces, K-9 Squad and competing in over almost 200 amateur boxing bouts. The politely spoken gentleman has a massive Perth fan base of South African supporters who are known to turn out in force in his support. He hopes to see them and Perth MMA fans converge on April 24.

While not fussed about who he faces, Lucas dedicates his time to training six days a week sharpening all aspects of his fight game including Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Cross Fit and Roman Greco Wrestling all the while working a graveyard shift job to support his family.

“I’m a family man, but I also love fighting as well as teaching others the skills and knowledge I have learnt in MMA. All I really want is a chance to fight in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) show the world my style of fighting and give it my all against some of the world’s best, plus it will put Perth on the map” says Lucas on competing as a real life fighter.

“Xavier Lucas is one of the most exciting fighters Australia has to offer the UFC and the World, not only does he have exceptional stand up fighting skills but he has a a fearsome ground game powered by the heart and hunger of a lion. It’s time we get behind him post photos, videos and info about the guy, get him a lot more support through endorsements and have him recognised on the world stage” expressed Champions Gym’s Pamorn Martdee who also trains Lucas in Muay Thai and striking.

Get set to see Xavier Lucas create a stir in the MMA world if he gets the recognition he deserves. Get behind him today and don’t miss him competing live in Perth on Tuesday April 24 Bragging Rights II: Battle in the Trenches at the WA Italian Club, Perth.

A social media gag we hope will be shared. Of course Dana’s favourite “F” word was used. Unfortunately we couldn’t show the explicit version.
